Small businesses still need to take calls from customers, in spite of the many other options for communication which are commonplace today.
That’s where a phone system comes into play, and the trick isn’t just to pick the right one, but also set it up in a way that benefits your organization at every level.

To help you do just that, we’ve pulled together some top tips so that you can take full advantage of your small business phone system.
Use software that gives you a local phone number
Just because your business is small, that doesn’t mean you aren’t going to be fielding calls from customers across the entire country.
The problem with this is that if you’ve got just one geographic phone number, it will cost inbound callers from further afield a lot more cash to get in touch.
Worse still, calling prospects in far-flung places is tougher because they won’t necessarily trust any non-local number they see on their screen.
Thankfully, with the use of a local phone number supplied via software, you can deal with both of these conundrums at once, and you won’t need to change anything else about your phone system in the process.
Embrace CRM integration
There are lots of great customer relationship management platforms out there which support integration with business phone systems, whether you’re using an on-site PBX or a remote, software-based equivalent.
The suitability of a particular CRM for your needs will depend on the features you value most. So for example, you might prioritize picking a package that lets you track lots of different metrics relating to calls, and use analytical tools to determine how effectively you are handling conversations with customers across an entire sales team.
It’s easiest to achieve integration if you’re using a VoIP-based phone system, and you could even benefit from things like automatic conversation logging and real time transcription with such a setup.
Implement call forwarding ASAP
Even the simplest phone system should be able to forward calls, and this is very relevant for small businesses that might not have large teams available to answer landline connections from a single location.
Calls can be forwarded to several devices consecutively, whether that’s your modern mobile device , your home phone line or to another office entirely.
The good reputation of your company is dependent on being there to answer customers when they contact you, so activating automatic call forwarding has to be high on the agenda.
Train team members appropriately
If your business is small but growing, it’s unlikely that you’re the only one who will have use of the phone system you choose. So don’t just assume that because you’ve got to grips with its various features and functions, others will find it similarly intuitive.
Offering training for all team members in the use of the phone system will ensure that your investment in it pays dividends.
Look to the long term
The final aspect of setting up a phone system for your growing small business involves considering how your needs will change as time passes, and making sure that your existing configuration won’t become a limiting factor as you add more employees to your ranks.
More flexibility is afforded through software and internet-powered telephony solutions, of course. But things like the number of desktop handsets you buy, and the number of connection points that are available, must also be assessed.
Getting the bigger picture sooner rather than later will benefit your business further down the line, and your phone system will be an asset rather than a bottleneck.

Lebara Mobile Phone Service Reviews On Trustpilot
Trustpilot was the first site I visited and the site had an overall star review rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 stars which is the best I’ve ever seen. There were a lot of good reviews so let’s begin with them. A lot of the reviews were about the company’s customer service agents and employees who were helpful, friendly and polite. Some customers expressed their happiness with Lebara mobile’s good coverage, affordability and signal. Here are a few of the good reviews:
•I bought a Lebara sim, and I was trying to pick a plan, but I made a mistake, and I was debited twice. I was sad because of it.
I was just going through my sim pack, and I saw where I could chat with the customer support officer and went for it. An officer named Faraz was able to handle my request professionally. It is so wonderful and amazing!!!
Lebara is the BEST!!!!!!!!!
•Had an issue with my mobile data connection and couldn’t use the internet, my case was handled by Abdul Qavi. He was so patient and efficient, literally spilling the process by the letter when I couldn’t fix it via the link (he stayed on the call throughout). In no time I was back online, couldn’t be happier. Lebara »
•Highly recommend it!
Great value for money, I live in a rural area and now I have great phone reception with Lebara! I was with two other networks prior and Lebara is by far the best! I made a mistake changing my plan and spoke to a lovely adviser, Jaid S, he got me sorted so efficiently and was super friendly. A great asset to Lebara!
Now, on to the bad reviews, a good amount of the bad reviews spoke about poor signal strength and data coverage. Some customers complained about employees and agents of Lebara making false promises to customers. Some customers also had issues with porting their numbers and also complained about bad connections. There were also a few customers who wrote about how rude some customer service agents were to them. Here are some of the bad reviews:
•If you want to be coned go with these.
The signal is worse than voda fone.
No service in france or spain
Little service in uk.
A total waste of your time and money.
Costs u but u get nothing.
No customer service.
All u get is app service hence cheap.
Go to a different supplier.
•I wrote a Glowing review last month about the helpful customer advisor… How wrong was I! He promised my refund would be made and my account would be rectified but a month later and guess what?! No refund was made and I have again been charged the wrong amount! Don’t be fooled by their promises and cheap Sims, now I’m going to need to waste an hour of my time on webchat trying to sort out this mess, grrr!
•Oh dear. What an experience. I had my old number ported into Lebara. 5th Oct it occurred and I had a connection for a few hours. Since then and as of writing this review, I have had no connection to the network for 8 days. I have spent ages chatting to Customer Service. They are very helpful, but the bottom line is, there is no connection. It was prioritised, then escalated to a complaint. 2 days into that process and still no network connection. Tomorrow is the final day for me. Can’t carry on like this.

Lebara Mobile Phone Service Reviews On The Product Reviews Site
The Product Review site had an overall star review rating of 2.4 stars out of 5 stars. A lot of customers spoke about how affordable Lebara mobile plans are and how customers can make free international calls to or from anywhere. Lebara’s customer service agents were praised for being friendly and helpful to customers and some customers went as far as mentioning names in their reviews. Here are a few of the good reviews I found:
•Simple fast port reception and data good but didn’t receive bonus 35gb on the $29.90 plan only complaint I would have.
•Having two phones on their cheapest plan for several years. Never ran out of data, especially since they had data-banking for a long time already. Another plus is the additional international credit, which I am using regularly. Happy with their customer service, online platform and app.
Connection in the cities is great, outside the same as I had with other providers (on Optus and Vodafone network) – usually good, sometimes hit and miss. It’s a big country.
•I have been using lebara for 3 years, never had any problems. I accidentally charged the wrong service and they refunded the money in credit for a few months. I was also given free credit in terms of data usage on every occasion. and the bill is only $14.90 compared to the huge cost with previous companies. Would recommend this service!
There were a lot of complaints about poor phone signals and bad coverage by some customers. Some customers had issues with porting their numbers and rude customer service agents. A few customers complained about the slow internet speed and how sometimes they aren’t able to rollover their data from the previous month. Some customers also spoke about making complaints to customer service about their issues but their issues were never resolved and sometimes customer service was unresponsive. Here are some of the bad reviews:
•Charged twice 3 times, tried calling no answer, live chat no reply, email response.. message us when you’re back online or call us. Wow, worst customer service. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
•Don’t ever think of joining or porting your number to Lebara. the worst customer service ever. waste of time and money. my number has been deactivated since porting and now lost! NO ONE is responsible for it and they keep telling you to wait! I lost my old number after 20 years and have been without my phone for 48 hours and can not retain it back and they are just saying wait!
•Absolutely disgusting customer service, very rude, bought a sim by error and they refuse to give back my refund, just a wasted $, anywhere is better than here, go elsewhere.
•Issue 1: Signal strength in Sydney North West suburb Schofields 2762 is so bad that when we are inside our home the caller on the other side can’t hear what we are saying, outside on the street we get 2 bars which is not enough as well. Issue 2: The data you give is unusable as because in the train the 4G does not work at all, leave aside Netflix, even simple gmail search takes eternity to load. Here is the lowdown on Lebara network coverage in western Train line: North Sydney to Strathfield – the 4G strength is WORST- No online video, only google search. Strathfield to Sevenhills – 4G strength is BAD. Seven hills to Schofields – 4G strength is OK, it never great anywhere in train
Pro : The long term plans are cost effective.
