Google has been adding new changes to the Gboard for a personalised experience for users. After including toggle keys to remove some punctuation keys, it now rolls out an update that will make it quicker to access the hinted symbols.

There is a new “Flick keys to enter symbols” feature under Gboard preferences . The toggle key allows users to touch a key and pull downward to enter its hinted symbol. This action is more like a flick of the key, but there is also a sensitivity option for users to set the action to how they prefer it.
Flick keys for hinted symbols
By “hinted symbol,” we mean extra characters seen at the top right corner of the keyboard letters. They are basically the numbers 1 to 10 on the top row of letters: Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I, O, and P. By pulling down the keys, each number can be entered, instead of the usual sub-menu.

Earlier, Google introduced an update for a more minimalistic keyboard, by hiding punctuation marks and making the spacebar wider. While some love the new look, others feel it makes their texts clumsy. Either way, it’s a toggleable option for Gboard users that is off by default.
Google has been rolling out updates to Gboard over the years, one of which is the popular Emoji Kitchen that makes expressing emotions easier and more fun. Who knows what it will bring to Gboard next?

Apple launched the iPhone 17 in September, and the rumour mill is already churning about the iPhone 20. The iPhone 18 isn’t even out yet, but there are leaks about the smartphone after it. There won’t be an iPhone 19 because the iPhone 20 launch in 2027 will mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.

It won’t be the first time something like this happens. Apple also skipped the iPhone 9 and launched the iPhone X alongside the iPhone 8 to celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2017. For the 20th anniversary, Apple definitely has a few surprises for iPhone users.
iPhone 20 is the iPhone without buttons
In recent years, Apple has added more buttons to the iPhones like the Action Button and Camera Control. There are rumours that the company is planning to drop all physical buttons. A tipster, Momentary Digital, shares that Apple is saving this redesign for the big 20th anniversary model.

According to the leak , Apple’s 2027 iPhone — iPhone 20 — will use solid-state buttons that don’t need physical movements to function. The power button, volume rocker, Action Button, and Camera Control will all be solid-state buttons with haptic feedback for a more interactive design.
iPhone 20 camera upgrade
Apple’s iPhones are known to offer top-tier mobile photography. It isn’t a surprise that the iPhone 20 will pack a major camera upgrade. Reports suggest that the Pro model will feature a Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) camera sensor, which will be able to pull in more light for superior dynamic range.

With only the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra using a LOFIC sensor, other flagship brands are gradually joining the competition. For Apple, that will be in 2027.
