According to a recent post, Apple’s plan is to assemble and package iPhone chips in India. The company plans to explore the possibility of that after its discussions with local chip manufacturers in the country.
Also, Apple has talked with CG Semi, which is currently building an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Gujarat. Apple has never assembled or packaged chips in India, and the report suggests that the CG Semi facility could initially focus on display-related chips.
For any partnership to materialize in subsequent discussions, it’s expected that CG Semi meets with Apple’s strict quality and dependability. Apple is also holding talks with other companies.
At the moment, Apple is sourcing its display driver integrated circuits (DDICs) from suppliers such as Samsung, Himax, LX Semicon, and Novatek, all of which operate manufacturing facilities in South Korea, Taiwan, or China.
Apple has consistently expanded manufacturing of its products in India for many years now. The entire iPhone 17 lineup for the US market, for example, is made in the country.

A fresh post reveals that the iPhone Air 2 could arrive in 2026. A previous report in November suggested that Apple had shifted the launch to 2027. This post was shared after the disappointing sales of the original model.
The report came from tipster Fixed Focus Digital , stating that the iPhone Air 2 is certain to launch at the fall iPhone launch event in September next year. Still on the report from the tipster, the iPhone 17e is also set for a spring launch and has entered the mass-production stage.
It was expected that Apple would unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Fold in September 2026. Based on the previous report, the second-generation iPhone Air, the iPhone 18 and iphone 17e, were scheduled for a spring 2027 debut .
According to rumours, the iPhone Air 2 will feature a dual-rear camera setup , larger battery, lower price, and vapour chamber cooling.
