From the look of things, Apple’s first foldable iPhone may launch sometime next year, but the company still has some technical difficulties to handle if the folds are to be completely free from creases. According to Digital Chat Station (via Wccftech ), “technical challenges” prevent Apple from developing a folding screen that looks completely flat when it’s opened out.

Current foldables, including the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, still have slight creases in their displays where the hinge mechanisms are. While this isn’t a major problem, it’s an aesthetic problem. When Apple tries a new tech, it usually does it differently. Apple’s engineers are still looking for ways to achieve this crease-free foldable iPhone.
The same tipster includes more details about Apple experimenting with different types of ultra-thin flexible glass (UFG). It adds that the foldable iPhone is going to make its debut sometime in September.
With Apple’s new iPhone launch schedule , we expect quite a number of releases next year. The iPhone 18 Pro may launch in September as usual, but the iPhone 18 won’t debut until March of 2027. Including a foldable iPhone is a new form factor for Apple and its smartphones. The foldable iPhone is rumoured to come with an under-display camera, meaning no notch or cut-out on the display.
We don’t really know what exactly this “foldable iPhone” will be called, perhaps the iPhone Fold. We’ll get word of that next year before Apple launches the device.

We’re still waiting for Samsung to make the update available internationally, but you can follow these steps to get it: head over to Settings, navigate to Software update and click Download and install.
