Apple is working seriously to upgrade its AirTag during the first half of 2026. However, it was initially supposed to be this year. The coming AirTag will feature an improved pairing process, enhanced Precision Finding, and detailed battery level reporting. The features will also include Improved Moving, which allows you to see its precise location even when it’s moving around. This feature is specifically designed to enhance tracking accuracy in crowded places.

Apple's new AirTag and HomePod mini - 1

Apple is working on a new AirTag and a new HomePod mini. We don’t know whether the new features will make it to the original AirTag through a software upgrade. But the improved Precision Finding is likely to rely on an upgraded UWB chip.

The coming HomePod mini

Apple also plans to upgrade the HomePod mini soon, though it’s likely to be only a swap. The new model of HomePod mini will feature the S, while the original HomePod mini that was released in 2020 has the S5 on board. The speaker isn’t likely to support Apple Intelligence features, even with the new chip.
