Social Media is powering the next wave of media. We have seen and experienced how the likes of WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter, are changing the way people communicate and disseminate information. Enter Believers Connect. This is a social network app that “helps Christian singles to connect for the purposes of friendship that can graduate to relationship and marriage”. We thought to try out this app, probably with hopes of meeting the One 😀

First of all, this app has a very beautiful design. All the UI element are polished and pleasing to the eyes. After installation, you’re asked to connect with your Facebook account – this saves you the stress of identification. Next thing, you enter your email address, Country and Area of Residence, followed by your relationship status.

Once that is done, you can now start meeting people. The “Chat” section is where you privately message people (just like we have on every other chatting platform). “Suggested Connections” , shows you people/matches, based on the information you entered. Here you can Like or Dislike people.

The “Interests” page shows all the people you’ve liked, those that like you, and your mutual likes. The “Heart-II-Heart” page is where you pour out your heart in words. This is similar to Twitter in a way though. You can choose to like or comment on people’s posts, yet it is a cool avenue to meet random people.

Beleivers-Connect-Extras - 3

The most unique feature on this app is the “Digital Library” . In this section, you find podcasts of Christian messages. They’re all available for free download, though I’m guessing it will be a paid service soon. You can download the messages and listen to them. Cool.

The app is free, but you’ll have to pay to gain access to more suggested matches. The upgrade also removes the ads that pop up from time to time as you navigate the app. See screenshot above. There are a few issues I had while using this app:

  • After registration, I could open the my homepage. Tried everything I could, no way. I had to clear the app data and relaunch it before it opened properly.
  • The “Suggested Connection” page refused to refresh or change. I tried and tried. After loading the first set of recommended people, that was it.

Hopefully, a software update will fix these issues.

Final Words

There is this Christian, or rather religious, feel to Believers Connect. Common sense should tell you that you have to mind your language while using this app, though we are guessing that you can get wild in the private chat section if your partner is game. This app reminds me a lot of Badoo – asides the Digital Library and Heart-II-Heart section, every other thing has similarities.

I just read the rumour of how Apple might be announcing three (3) iPhones this year – iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 Pro. If this rumour is true, it should sound familiar to you. Yes; it sounds like Apple might be joining the bad gang. Let me help jog your memory a little with help from a few members of the bad gang.

Xiaomi , Gionee and Samsung immediately come to mind with their extensive (and sometimes confusing) ranges of stepped models. This three-step rumour of the upcoming iPhone isn’t confusing in any way yet. We will have to wait for Apple to add an iPhone 7 Mini, iPhone 7 Max, iPhone 7, iPhone 7s, iPhone 7 Active, and iPhone 7 MediaTek (!!!) to the mix, before we can officially welcome them to the confusing category. That would be something.

One bad apple - bad gang - 4

Again, it has to be said: this multistep product model seems to work well for manufacturers and if the rumour is true, Apple is latching on as well. In which case, we would be able to say that Apple has joined the bad gang, finally.
