The first smartphone to use Mediatek’s new Dimensity 1100 chipset is vivo S9, a smartphone running OriginOS based on Android 11 and sporting an old school notch.
It is not clear why vivo is going retro with the notch when there are sexier implementations around. Anyway, vivo S9 has a 6.4” AMOLED screen, and the notch houses dual front-facing cameras, made up of a 44MP main lens and an ultra-wide supporting lens.
Supporting the Dimensity 1100 chipset is 12GB of RAM, a combination that should make for solid performance.

There will not be one Redmi K40 smartphone model announced this year; there will be three – Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40S, and they are all exciting models.
What may we expect from them? For one, all of the Redmi K40 phone models will have fast refresh screens and fast charging. The top model – Redmi K40 Pro – will also come with the 108 MP Samsung HM2 ISOCELL sensor in the main camera, along with a periscope lens with 12x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.
