Samsung has launched a new update that comes with several screen unlock effects for One UI 8.5 . This means that after installing the new LockStar update you’ll have more screen unlock effects on your Galaxy phone.

This update comes with customisation options for Galaxy phones and adds many screen unlock animation effects, manual always-on display (AOD) brightness controls, and lots more. However, unlock animations are currently limited to devices running One UI 8.5.
Version 8.5.00.8, the latest LockStar update, introduces two new features for One UI 8.5 devices and one new feature for devices running One UI 8.0. The ability to customise screen unlock animations is the interesting experience with the One UI 8.5.

There are many animation styles that can be found in the Unlock Animation option, like: Slide, Expand, Spread, Wave, Warp, and Ripple. Each animation offers additional customisation options like its shape, colour, animation duration, and interpolator (animation curves) settings.
Also, it introduces manual control over always-on display (AOD) brightness, though this very feature is only available on devices that support full-screen AOD wallpapers, just like the Galaxy S24 and other newer high-end Galaxy models.
LockStar now includes a new text feature that allows you to place custom text on the lock screen and this is available for devices running One UI 8.0. Samsung has also fixed the issue with the added corner rounding option to lock screen widgets, as well as the problem with fingerprint effects.
