Getting notifications for a forgotten device is a useful feature that lets users know when two connected gadgets become separated. As soon as a smartwatch disconnects its Bluetooth connection to a phone because of distance, you’ll get a notification alert immediately. This useful feature seen on Apple Watch and other smartwatches improves safety and usability.

A new report claims that Google may finally add the Forgotten Device feature to its Pixel Watch series. Android Authority found a string code within the Pixel Watch companion app that suggests the company is testing Forgotten Device alerts. This will notify users if they leave their watch or phone behind.

If this feature is added, Pixel Watch owners will easily be able to track their devices using Bluetooth when both devices are connected. However, not all Pixel Watch models will support the feature. It will probably only be Pixel Watches with a certain hardware or software requirement.

Google has not yet shared any official details on the feature so it’s not certain if it will get to the stable users. Including the forgotten device alert to the Pixel Watch will improve user experience.

Samsung’s custom Qualcomm chip for the Galaxy S27 Ultra

The Galaxy S27 may use a custom-tuned Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip , according to rumours. The chip would be manufactured on Samsung’s 2nm process. While the report doesn’t mention the Galaxy S27 Ultra by name, it’s almost conclusive that it’s the device in question, as the Galaxy S27 Ultra is the most preferred candidate for such a change.

It’s been a while since Samsung made Qualcomm flagship chips, but recent reports suggest that Samsung Foundry may continue with the chip production. The chances are higher since Samsung Foundry’s yields on the 2nm process have improved. With the lack of capacity at TSMC, customers like Qualcomm can only turn to Samsung.

Custom-tuned chips have had slightly higher CPU clock speeds for Galaxy phones compared to the versions sold by Qualcomm to other device manufacturers. That’s what the expression “custom-tuned” likely means.

With the Galaxy S27 series still a long way off, there could be changes in the plans as with all leaks and predictions of future devices.
