You can buy CMF Phone 1 in the USA for $199.
There are not a lot of smartphones released in today’s world that I find exciting. Most of them are nothing more than more of the same. Did you see what I did there? Nice play of words; right? Anyway, the CMF Phone 1 has me hooked. It is cut differently from the rest, and the good news is that if you are based in the United States, you can buy one. Yay!
What makes the CMF Phone 1 stand out? Why would you want to buy one? I will answer these questions by asking another one: How many $200 smartphones around offer the kind of value that it does? Let’s look at those values.
- What makes CMF Phone 1 a good deal
- Price of accessories
- Software Updates

What makes CMF Phone 1 a good deal
You already knew that CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing; right? If you didn’t, now you do. It is. The key value is that the CMF Phone 1 is a budget Android smartphone that sets aside Nothing’s fancy Glyph lighting and replaces that with hardware customizability. In other words, you can add new features or extend the current features by snapping on one accessory or the other.

When you buy CMF Phone 1, you can customise it with a range of attachable accessories.
Available accessories for the CMF Phone 1 include replaceable rear covers, a card case, a lanyard, and a kickstand. That isn’t a long list, but then how many other modern smartphones do you know that allows you to modify them that way? Exactly. None. Not even the $1,000 premium flagships. This $200 phone does. Of course, there is also the possibility that the catalog of attachable accessories will grow over time.
Price of accessories
The replaceable back cases come in multiple colors (Black, Blue, Light Green, Orange) and cost $35 each. All the other attachable accessories cost $25 each. That is, if you are keen on customizing your unit.
Software Updates
On the software side, if you buy CMF Phone 1, you get to enjoy Nothing’s custom user interface, as well as two major OS updates and three years of security patches. Again, two major Android software updates is not a lot, but there are not many $200 smartphones that get even one update.
The truth is that for $200 (more accurately $199), you are getting a lot, relative to the competition. Anyway, the next question is, “How do you get your hands on the CMF Phone 1?”
How to buy CMF Phone 1 in the United States
All you have to do now is sit tight and wait for Nothing to throw open the CMF Phone 1 U.S. beta program to the public and you can grab your copy. I am convinced that you will be getting yourself a solid deal if you buy CMF Phone 1. No; I was not paid to market this phone. A good deal is a good deal. And the CMF Phone 1 for $199, ladies and gentlemen, is a really good deal.
PS : Once the US beta program info is out, I will update this page with it, so bookmark this article and check back from time to time.
