Tesla Advanced Summon software will make it possible for you to summon your car and make it follow you around like a pet. Elon Musk revealed this in a series of tweets. According to him, if you hold down summon button on Tesla app, your car “will drive to your phone location and follow you like a pet”.
Also, you’ll be able to drive your car from your phone remotely. That sounds like something from a James Bond or Iron Man movie. However, remote control driving works if you are in line of sight for now.
This adds a new dimension to autonomous vehicles. As a matter of fact, once again, science fiction becomes science reality.

What are the benefits of Tesla Advanced Summon?
Tesla’s Advanced Summon is a feature that allows Tesla owners to remotely control their car’s movement within a certain range, using their smartphone’s Tesla app. The feature has several benefits, including:
- Convenience : With Advanced Summon, Tesla owners can summon their car to their current location, saving them time and effort. For example, they can have their car come to the entrance of a building, rather than having to walk to a remote parking spot.
- Safety : Advanced Summon can help reduce the risk of accidents and improve safety in parking lots, as the feature can guide the car to navigate tight spaces and avoid obstacles. It also allows the driver to keep an eye on the car while it is in motion.
- Accessibility : Advanced Summon can be particularly useful for individuals with disabilities or mobility issues, as it allows them to summon their car to a more accessible location.
- The Wow factor : Advanced Summon can be a fun and entertaining feature, as it allows Tesla owners to remotely control their car and show off their Tesla’s advanced capabilities.
Tesla Advanced Summon Compatibility
The new software is compatible with all Tesla models manufactured from 2016 with Autopilot hardware V2+. Those cars will receive an over-the-air software upgrade to have these advanced features added to them.
The future is here. Welcome.
