About Apple Intelligence
There is a lot of expectations for Apple Intelligence. Everyone is going AI these days and Apple lovers are itching to see what Apple Intelligence has to offer. News leaking out say that Apple’s AI will arrive in beta when iOS 18 rolls out in September. It will take some time for the AI to mature and be ready for prime time.
Important: Note that not all iOS 18 eligible devices will get Apple Intelligence. Why? Older chips don’t have the capacity to run it. So, which iPhones will get it?
iPhone models that will get Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence will be available to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, thanks to them using the latest A17 Pro chipset. Not even the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will get Apple Intelligence.
September 2024 Update : the new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also get Apple Intelligence.
How to check your iPhone for the iOS 18 update
If you have some of the above-listed eligible iPhones and do not have automatic updates enabled, here is how to manually check for the iOS 18 update on your device.
- Back up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer to ensure your data is safe before updating. This is so that if anything goes wrong, you can restore your data.
- Make sure you have over 60% battery charge. If not, connect your iPhone to a power source and make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi. A robust data plan with at least 5GB data available will also work fine.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap General .
- Select Software Update .
- You will see the currently installed version of iOS and whether an update is available. If the iOS 18 update is available, you can tap Download and Install .
- Enter your passcode if prompted, and agree to the terms and conditions to start the update process.
Your iPhone will download the update and install it. Depending on how good your Internet connection is, this may take some time. During the update, your iPhone may restart several times. Once the update is complete, your iPhone will be running the new iOS 18 with all the new features and security updates.
I also recommend that you turn on Automatic Updates in the Software Update settings to keep your iPhone up to date automatically, so you do not have to manually check for updates after this.

Once upon a time, HTC was one of the most prolific players in the smartphone industry. They also made some of the best and hottest devices in the market. The brand has since been reduced to being a niche player that releases new phones every now and then.
The company has announced a new phone, the U24 Pro. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset places it squarely in upper midrange territory, very close to premium flagship class. The rest of the specs are exciting though. There is 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It runs Android 14.

HTC U24 Pro is a large phone with a 6.8″ 1080×2436 OLED display.woth 120Hz refresh rate and a sheet of Corning’s Gorilla Glass on it. Embedded in a punch hole at the top of the display is an impressive (at least on paper) 50 MP front-facing camera for selfies. We will have to see what real life performance is like.
At the back of the HTC U24 Pro is a triple camera configuration that includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. Like I said above, exciting specs.
This phone has a 4600 mAh battery – that’s a little on the small size, considering the large 6.8″ display, so don’t expect the best of battery life (unless HTC pulls of an optimisation surprise). For charging, it has two options – 60W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. You can also use it as a power bank for charging other devices with 5W wireless charging.
The body is the U24 Pro has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, meaning that it can handle splashes of water and dust. Besides being big, the HTC U24 Pro is a thick phone, measuring 8.98 mm. That is almost 9 mm. It weighs 198.7g.
Did I mention that HTC included a 3.5mm headphone jack? Which is a breath of fresh air in a world where many brands are getting rid of the feature. HTC really went hard on this one. Have a look at the detailed specs below.

Where is the AI?
If you are wondering whether HTC U24 Pro has AI ( artificial intelligence ) integrated anywhere, it does. For starters, the camera app is AI-enhanced, and so is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. In all, this is an attractive device (minus the size and weight).
The €564 price tag isn’t encouraging though. For that price, you will find more competitive alternatives in the market. HTC U24 Pro will be available in the European Union. Availability elsewhere is yet to be confirmed.
