Apple has started planning the first iOS 26.3 beta to supported devices, after iOS 26.2 launched a few days ago. This release brings a few notable changes, including an all-new transfer tool for users who want to migrate from iPhone to Android, as well as notification forwarding to third-party wearables.

Transfer to Android is the latest addition to Apple’s set of transfer tools. It allows you to migrate data like apps, photos, contacts, messages and more by connecting the two devices to the same wireless network. The novelty is that this feature is now built into iOS and does not require any additional apps.
iOS 26.3 Beta 1 makes notification forwarding easier
Notification Forwarding is another significant addition in iOS 26.3, but it is currently only available in the EU. It allows third-party wearables to receive notifications from your iPhone. The feature can be enabled by going into Settings > Notifications > Notification Forwarding.
Once ticked, users will be able to pick and choose which apps can send out notifications to their wearables. The feature currently works on a single device, so if you have an Apple Watch connected to your phone, you won’t be able to receive notifications. The new feature is a direct result of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, which forced Apple to open up access to its iOS notification system.
Another new feature in iOS 26.3 is the Weather wallpaper, which now gets its own separate section inside the Lock Screen customisation options. Apple is expected to drop iOS 26.3 in January 2026.

Samsung is known to always bringing good features to its products, though the company doesn’t usually maintain them. An example was the dual aperture feature (F1.5 and F2.4) that the company introduced with the Galaxy S9 series in 2018 and stopped abruptly just two years later with the Galaxy S20 .
According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), Samsung plans to revive the variable aperture feature for its future phones. The South Korean firm has resumed the testing based on the assumption that future iPhones will also have a similar feature. Future Galaxy phones could have more aperture stops for even higher controls over the camera, unlike the Galaxy S9, with just two settings (F1.5 and F2.4).

Variable aperture is an adjustable opening in a camera lens that controls the amount of light that hits the camera sensor. The aperture’s opening can be narrowed to control the light, if it’s much, especially in sunlit environment. When the reverse is the case, as in night environment, light intake can be reduced by completely opening the aperture.
Some Chinese smartphone brands have also started using this variable aperture lens, that is generally found in professional DSLR and mirrorless cameras, in their recent high-end models. Rumours have it that future iPhones could feature a variable aperture lens, and Samsung is planning to bring the feature to its coming high-end Galaxy phones.
There’s also the likelihood that this feature would be used in the Galaxy S27 series, particularly the Galaxy S27 Ultra. According to various posts, the Galaxy S26 series won’t be inclusive in this feature. Also, this Samsung’s plan to give new life to the Galaxy S9 camera feature is to better compete with upcoming iPhones.
