It isn’t every day that a phone company releases a new phone that is a solid upgrade to its predecessor. Motorola has announced the budget Moto G Power 5G 2024, and it comes to the party with specs to make you pay attention.
What’s even juicier is that it will be available in both the US and Canada. In the US, the carrier support is impressive, meaning that regardless of what carrier you are on, you should be able to use the Moto G Power 5G 2024 without the need to switch.
The list of US carriers that will carry the phone include: T-Mobile, Metro, AT&T, US cellular, Verizon, Straight Talk, Total, Walmart Family Mobile and Visible. The list of Canadian carriers is not available yet. We will update this page as new information is made available.

Specs and features
The Moto G Power 5G 2024 ships with Android 14 and has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a centered punch hole that houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
At the back of the phone is a dual camera arrangement, sporting a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra wide camera. Motorola says that the ultra wide camera also serves as a macro camera.
Powering the phone is a Dimensity 7020 5G chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. Built-in storage is 128GB. As far as the information from the official announcement is concerned, the phone is available in only this single configuration.
Battery and wired charging is as expected – a 5000mAh battery couped with 30W TurboPower fast charging. A pleasant surprise is the 15W wireless charging included this time. We weren’t expecting that. Note that the wireless charger is not included in the box, so you have to buy it separately. If you have a wireless charging plate already, you can just use that.
Other key features of the phone are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio headset port, NFC, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, splash-repellent design (note that this is not an IP-rated water-proofing), and vegan material for the back cover.
Colors
The Moto G Power 5G 2024 is available in two colorways – Midnight Blue and Pale Lilac.
Software updates
Motorola is silent on what to expect in terms of software updates for the phone. I wouldn’t hold my breath, as the company is not examplary with that. So, the Moto G Power 5G 2024 is likely to remain on Android 14.

The Moto G 5G 2024 is now official and with a price tag of $200, putting it at the upper end of entry-level Android phone territory. It sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. You will be happy to know that it ships with Android 14.
Unlike many other phones in its price bracket, the Moto G 5G 2024 has a punch hole and that houses an 8MP selfie camera.
If we flip the phone over to the back, you will find a dual camera setup waiting there. It comprises a 50MP main camera and a macro camera. The back panel is made out of Vegan leather material, and the phone is coated with a water-repellant. This protects the phone from mild spills and splashes of water.
Keeping the lights on is a robust 5000mAh battery and there is 18W wired charging for topping it up. You can expect good battery life from the phone.

In Canada, the phone will also be available from Motorola.ca from May 2, 2024, and also from Canadian carriers later.
In Europe
In the EU, the phone has a price tag of €180. It is likely to be available in countries like Germany and Switzerland..
