Set to arrive at the Chinese market on October 22nd, the company has given us the first sneak peek of the phone’s design. At a glance, there isn’t much difference in the layout from its predecessors. At a closer glance, minor adjustments are noticeable.

Starting with the camera, the main and the ultrawide lenses are now located on top, with the periscope lens just below. The Nubia Z80 still has a boxy look with pointed corners, giving it an appearance that makes it stand out from most phones in the Chinese market. The smartphone will roll out in three colours: Light White, Phantom Black, and a Vincent van Gogh-inspired Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.

Powered by the impressive Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Nubia Z80 Ultra boasts a fast 144Hz refresh rate supported OLED display. With an under-display selfie camera on top, it comes with a 7,100mAh battery supported by 90W fast wired charging. This 7.8mm smartphone weighs just 225g.

The camera setup will pack an updated 18mm ultrawide lens with a 1/1.55-inch sensor and 7P lens elements, combined with a 35mm main lens powered by the 1/1.3” Omnivision 990 sensor. The telephoto unit will support up to 50X hybrid zoom with OIS, which is similar to the 64MP module features in the Nubia Z70 series.
