One UI 8 has been rolling out to Galaxy devices since last month. As usual, it is a gradual process and doesn’t happen all at once. It is already available on some older phones and tablets and it has finally arrived on the Galaxy Tab S9 series — Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra.

A report from SamMobile shows that the update is now available for Galaxy Tab S9 series devices in different regions like Asia, Europe, and the US. You can check if your Galaxy Tab S9 tablet has received the update in your settings menu. If it isn’t, it will get to your device eventually.
One UI 8 update brings one-handed mode to your Galaxy Tab S9One UI 8 is based on Android 16 with the focus of improving user experience with helpful features. Your tablet now has a one-handed mode that allows you to navigate easily on your large screen. With everything you need on one side of the screen, swiping and hand gestures are simpler to make.
Samsung has reportedly started work on the One UI 8.5 update. It is said to bring more AI features to Galaxy devices. Leaks suggest that one of them is real-time translation that can be used during meetings. Not only that, there will also be a tool to help with social media posts. The feature will make crafting posts easier and faster, offering ideas and helping you bring them to life. There is also a rumour of an intelligent Clipboard that can analyse copied text and recommend actions, including translate, summarise, search, and add to favourites.
There are still other amazing features expected to come with the new update. We look forward to what Samsung’s next major update will bring.

When Apple launched its ultra-thin iPhone Air in September, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge in reply. It had high hopes for fans of thinner devices but things didn’t go as planned. Although the lightweight flagship phone still offered top-tier performance, users were still sceptical about its thinness.

A new report from Jukanlosreve on X published on Newspim suggests that Samsung will discontinue the Edge series altogether. They’ve decided to stick with the usual three models for the Galaxy S26 series — Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra — and scrap the Edge model completely.
The thin Edge lineup was over before it even started
The Galaxy S25 Edge was the first slim phone released by Samsung and might be the last. Further details reveal that Samsung has no intentions of continuing the Galaxy S25 Edge. Once it’s out of stock, the company won’t bother manufacturing more units. A senior Samsung executive confirms this, saying it is highly unlikely the slim line will ever return, at least at the moment.
The Galaxy S26 Edge was already in development before the report was made. Earlier leaks suggested that the Edge version was to replace the Plus model in the Galaxy S26 series but reports indicated that Samsung resumed developing the Plus model last month. With the S26 Edge now in the past, Samsung seems to go on with its usual flagship versions.
The Galaxy S26 series will debut next year. There is plenty of time for Samsung to change its mind and continue the Edge lineup, but if the reports are true, the super slim Edge lineup will become history beginning and ending with the Galaxy S25 Edge.
