Samsung is expecting One UI 8.5 software for Galaxy smartphones and tablets that will bring about several significant changes in design, way better than the current UI. Among the changes is the refreshed Quick Settings panel, which is expected to be more customizable in future updates. The One UI 8.5 will most likely come at the launch of the Galaxy S26 series.

A new leak shares more details about what the revamped Quick Settings in One UI 8.5 will offer. The tipster, Tarun Vats, shared a screenshot of the updated panel on X. Quick settings tiles for different shortcuts now have a thin outline that is clearly seen when the shortcut is disabled.

The outline separates the tile from the background. With its subtle touch, it goes easier on the eyes. It is quite clear that Samsung makes the background colour a bit less saturated than in former iterations, thus improving visibility.

One UI 8.5 adopts a glass-like aesthetic that will go with Samsung’s other plans for an overhauled interface inspired by Apple’s latest iOS 26. There is also the option to separate the volume and brightness controls, including the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi toggles, which is not supported in One UI 8. With the One UI 8.5 interface, you can resize individual quick setting tiles, similar to the Android 16 feature.

The stable One UI 8.5 build may roll out with the Galaxy S26 series early 2026, with a beta originally planned to arrive in November.

With the iPhone 17 devices released in September, Apple is already working on the iPhone 18. A new leak reveals that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will sport three new colours, with two being more unusual.

A trusted tipster, Instant Digital, shared on Weibo what colours the high-end iPhones will come in. The leak suggests coffee, purple, and burgundy as the colour variants. The purple colour wouldn’t be a surprise as we have already seen a purple iPhone 14, but coffee brown and dark red burgundy are certainly new.

The leak also reveals that there wouldn’t be a standard black iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max, which isn’t exactly new. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, released this year, only came in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue.

According to rumours, Apple will launch its devices a bit differently next year. The base iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 may arrive in March, followed by the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models in September. By spreading out the launches across the year, the company aims to increase sales and give consumers something to look forward to while its competitors hype up their devices.

As we draw closer to 2026, more leaks are expected to surface regarding the specs and launch dates, just like the one about all four flagship iPhones having the same RAM storage.
