Samsung has announced a new variant of the popular Galaxy S20 to its collection of smartphones. This new variant, dubbed the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition is expected alongside the Galaxy Buds+. The new BTS Edition is inspired by the global pop music and cultural sensation BTS, bringing the boy band closer to fans with these new variants.
The design of the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition features a purple glass and metal exterior. The Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition and Buds+ charging case have the band’s logo emblazoned on them, letting fans show their loyalty through their devices.
The Galaxy S20+ 5G and S20+ arrive with pre-installed BTS-inspired themes and a fan community platform (called Weverse). The devices’ cases also have decorative stickers and photo cards with pictures of the band members. The Buds+ feature sound by AKG for detailed, balanced sound and a two-way speaker.
These smartphones will be available for pre-order on the company’s website in the US from the 19 th of June to the 8 th of July. And the best part is… those who pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition can get a whooping 50% discount on the Buds+ BTS Edition (which is priced at $181).
Both Samsung smartphones will go on sale from the 9 th of July, which marks the 7 th anniversary of the BTS fan collective. The Galaxy S20+ 5G BTS Edition is priced at $1155 and will be made available on the company’s website.

How to recognize Wifi 6 phones and devices
You won’t find the label “Wi-fi 6” on any smartphones, routers or mifi devices. Why? Because devices and gadgets bear the more technical label, “802.11.ax” or “Wi-fi 802.11.ax”. If a device has that label on it, that is a Wi-fi 6 compatible device. Here is a quick list of all Wifi versions, including the year each was ratified:

- Wi-Fi 2 (1999) = 802.11a
- Wi-Fi 3 (2003) = 802.11g

Looking at the above list, you will notice that the first generation of Wifi 6 phones are all high-end devices. This is in line with the pattern we have seen over the years with new technology. It first appears on premium devices and then trickles down over time to mid-range devices and then to the low end of the market. In another two or three years, we will be seeing Wifi 6 phones in the budget market.

For now, if you want a Wifi 6 phone, you must be ready to spend a small fortune for a premium smartphone. Similarly, the first set of Wi-fi 6 compatible routers will be on the expensive side but eventually we will see more affordable options. It is the curse of early adopters.
