The long awaited Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is now official. It packs most of the value of the Galaxy S21 at a more pocket-friendly price point.

Just so you understand things better, Samsung uses the “Fan Edition” or “FE” naming system to indicate a model that has nearly everything the main model, in this case Galaxy S21, offers at a lower price.

Samsung chose this naming scheme to replace the former “Lite” naming scheme. It sounds cooler and does not give the impression that the phone is inferior.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G specifications - 1

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a Snapdragon 888 processor, so it is not lacking in the performance department. That chipset is coupled with options of 6 GB and 8 GB RAM, and there are options of 128 GB and 256 GB storage. All of these are flagship worthy specifications.

Is there anything fascinating that the Galaxy S21 FE brings to the table? Yes. Remember the new Magic Eraser feature that Google introduced with the Pixel 6 phones? If you have longed to have it on your phone, Samsung has something similar, called Object Eraser.

Samsung has had Object Eraser for a while, but you probably didn’t hear of it. Like Google’s Magic Eraser, it lets you delete people from the backgrounds of your photos. Have a look at the key specifications below.

The specifications to price ratio of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is so sweet that it is likely to be a runaway success, just like its predecessor. The Galaxy S20 FE was released in late 2020 , and it is reported Samsung Galaxy S20 FE have sold 10 million units since then, making it one of Samsung’s best-selling Galaxy smartphones over the last one year [1]. Guess who is not surprised.

Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 is on, and HMD Global has announced four new Nokia smartphones. For the first time, we are seeing a Nokia smartphone with 120H refresh rate. The announced smartphones are Nokia G400, Nokia G100, Nokia C200 , and Nokia C100. All four of them run Android 12 out of the box.

All of these phone will be heading to the United States, where they will be available on some carriers before the end of Quarter 1, 2022. But as we have seen with Nokia phones in recent times, these phones will also likely make it to international markets later.

Nokia G400 5G Specs and Price

This is the most capable and most exciting of the new smartphones. For starters, the G400 is the first Nokia smartphone with a 120H display. The display is 6.6 inches (16.76 centimetres) in size and has a water drop notch. In addition, it is a 5G smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chipset. It looks like HMD Global purchased this chip in huge quantities, as it keeps popping up inside almost all new 5G Nokia smartphones.

We wish we would see something more capable at some point, though. And sooner than later. It cannot hurt to see Snapdragon 750 and 765 chipsets instead of the SD 480. That extra power for better performance cannot hurt.

There is 6 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in storage, both of which are good choices for a mid-range Android phone. And it ships with stock Android 12 and comes with Nokia’s promise of 2 years of major Android updates. There is a triple camera setup at the rear, with a 48MP main sensor coupled with 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses.

It is good to see HMD Global depart from the circular rear camera module that we have seen for some time on its models. It is time Nokia starts playing around and come up with some catchy designs, as part of drumming up excitement for the brand .

How much does the Nokia G400 cost? $239 in the US. We will wait to see where else it shows up and how much it will cost there.

Nokia G100 Specs and Price

The G100 has a slightly smaller 6.5-inch screen. There is no high refresh rate in the picture here. You do get a triple camera setup at the rear side, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 5,000 mAh battery. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset. Nokia G100 will sell for $149 in the USA.

Nokia C200 Specs and Price

The C200 is in entry-level territory. It has a 6.1-inch display, is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, and has a 4,000 mAh battery to keep the lights on. It has a single rear camera. Price in the United States is $119.

Nokia C100 Specs and Price

Nokia C100 is a twin of the C200. It has a smaller, yet-to-be specified screen, MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage memory, a 4000mAh battery, and a single rear camera. It is priced at $99 only.

Availability

All four new Nokia phones will be available on US prepaid carriers like Tracfone, Boost Mobile, and Consumer Cellular in Q1, 2022.
