The Galaxy S series is Samsung’s premium flagship line-up and new models are released every year. And in 2022, there is massive expectation towards the announcement and release of Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the 2022 premium flagship line from the Korean brand.
If past patterns are anything to go by, other models in this year’s Galaxy S line-up will include the vanilla Galaxy S22 5G, the Galaxy S22+ 5G, and the Galaxy S22 FE 5G.
One leakster reports that the first 3 will all have glass backs[1]. Samsung has a history of using plastic back for the vanilla model, while the Plus and Ultra models get glass backs. However, another report says Samsung has listened to consumers and decided to use glass back covers across the Galaxy S22 series.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is the most powerful member of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and the most powerful Samsung smartphone of the year. It will also be one of the most expensive. The only other Samsung device that will cost more will likely be the next Galaxy Z Fold device.
As is the tradition with Samsung, we will see an Exynos 2200 version for the international market. A variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will likely sell in the United States and China. Does anyone know why Samsung implements that dichotomy? We’d like to know too.
The S22 Ultra 5G has S Pen stylus support, effectively meaning that this is the replacement for the Galaxy Note product line.
