Samsung’s 2018 twin flagships sound alike. The Plus tag on the latter tells us it is the bigger of the two, but the differences between the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are not just in size and price.
Whichever of the two devices you opt for, you will be getting a top-notch flagship smartphone that holds its own in 2018. You get Android 8 Oreo and Samsung’s custom user interface, dust and water resistant body, FullView Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, fingerprint scanner, powerful processor, Quick Charge 2.0 fast battery charging, plenty of internal storage space, 4G LTE, and much more.

Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy S9 Plus: Size
Summary : 5.8-inch display versus 6.2-inch display.
The Galaxy S9+ is bigger and heavier than its sibling. If you are more comfortable with a handy device, the S9 will probably appeal to you more. But most people prefer those displays the bigger they can be, so we are guessing the S9+ will have lots of fans.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy S9 Plus: Battery
Summary : 3000mAh capacity versus 3500mAh capacity.
It makes sense to give the model with the bigger display a bigger battery, after all it has been proven that a smartphone’s display is the greatest power guzzler. And so it is that the Galaxy S9+ has the bigger battery. Both devices have Quick Charge 2.0 fast battery charging.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy S9 Plus: RAM
Summary: 4GB RAM versus 6GB RAM.
While they both have the same processor, Samsung has equipped the bigger phone with more RAM, so it can run multiple apps smoother, giving the S9+ an edge in everyday usage.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy S9 Plus: Camera
Summary: single 12-megapixel camera versus dual 12-megapixel camera.
We do not know why Samsung chose to put a single camera at the back of the Galaxy S9 and a dual one on the S9+. You know that dual cameras are cool and fashionable in 2018; don’t you? That does not mean that a dual camera is necessarily better than a single one. After all, Google’s Pixel 2 cameras still whooped the behind of all of last year’s dual cameras. Still, a dual camera on the bigger guy sort of sets it a notch apart from its sibling.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy S9 Plus: Price
And lastly, we come to price. Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ costs a bit more than the S9. It costs about $100 more. That is about NGN30,000 more. It doesn’t sound like a high price to pay for the differences between the two devices. So, if you had a chance, which of the two would you buy – Samsung Galaxy S9 or Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus ?

Google has pulled a surprise move. Rather than go head-to-head against KaiOS, they have invested in it and secured a partnership that will make Google Assistant, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Search available to KaiOS users. It sounds like the smart thing to do to me.
Google and KaiOS
Why would the people at Google think it is a good idea that their services are available on a feature phone platform? A little over half of the world’s mobile users are on feature phones, and smartphone adoption has stalled.
KaiOS is already on 30 million phones and more brands are embracing it. With Nokia Mobile now producing KaiOS phones, the platform is bound to record even greater gains.
We have some hands-on insight into KaiOS in our Nokia 8110 4G review . The phone offers 4G LTE internet and hotspot in a feature phone package.
KaiOS and India
India, the current darling hotbed of the mobile world, is where KaiOS is thriving the most. KaiOS recently overtook iOS to become the second largest mobile platform in use in India.
Everyone – including the Chinese, and even Apple – wants a piece of the Indian market. Apple now manufactures two iPhone models in India and plans to add more to the line-up.
As Feature Phones Evolve
Rather than die away, as some predicted, feature phones are evolving and adapting. And emerging markets like India and the African continent will be their core territories.
In 2017, 60% of phones sold all over Africa were feature phones . KaiOS might be a hit too on the continent. 4G LTE and Google services in feature phones is just what the doctor ordered. If Microsoft is smart, they will be drawing plans to get their services on feature phones too.

A $22 million Boost
Google’s investment in KaiOS is part of a $22 million injection into the platform. If you had turned up your nose at feature phones and KaiOS, now is a good tine to reconsider. It looks like feature phones have a great future.
Should you be new to KaiOS, we have more detailed information about the feature phone platform in this article, KaiOS: everything you need to know .
