Samsung has released the first update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 just days after its launch on the 6 th of August 2020. This update brings a couple of features with it, including blood oxygen monitoring and VO2 Max measuring, helping users (especially exercise lovers) keep track of their vitals. The blood oxygen monitoring feature is not yet available in Angola, Algeria, Canada, Libya, Thailand, France, Iran, Japan, and South Africa.

This new firmware weighs 80MB and also introduces Advanced Running Analysis that helps users understand how they can improve their running and workouts by studying previous patterns. There is the Sleep Score feature which appears on the watch every morning to let the user know how well they have been able to sleep in terms of deep sleep and REM cycles.

Samsung Galaxy Watch3 Receives New Update - 1

This smartwatch from Samsung features hardware to measure blood pressure and electrocardiogram (ECG) readings. However, these functions are yet to be activated pending approval from the regulatory agencies of different countries. This scenario also played out with the Samsung Watch Active2 which was released last September and only got the ECG enabled recently.

With the present state of the healthcare system in most parts of the world, we may have to wait a little while before ECG and blood pressure monitoring become active on the Galaxy Watch3. The Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is powered by the Exynos 9110 SoC and features a Super AMOLED display. It is available in two sizes, a 41mm watch with a 1.2-inch display and a 45mm watch with a 1.4-inch display.

Apple has finally released the watchOS7 beta to the public. This is arriving after a developer beta had been made available for a while. This new update is designed with members of the general public in mind, although a few bugs may still surface on this version.

Apple Watch owners (from Apple Watch 3 and above) can now get to check out this new OS without paying for the Apple Developer Program. However, they will need to get the iOS 14 beta on a paired iPhone first. You can check out how to get the iOS 14 beta on your iPhone here .

When on that page, scroll down and click on Download Profile to get the profile on your iPhone. At this stage, your Apple Watch will automatically download the public beta unless your Automatic Updates are turned off in settings. If this is the case, you can manually check for updates in the iOS Apple Watch app by clicking My Watch tab, then proceeding to General > Software Update .

Once this process is complete, you would be able to try out some of the latest features arriving with the watchOS7. Some of these features include an automatic hand washing detection feature, an updated Maps app with new cycling directions, a big interface, sleep tracking, and a number of other exciting updates. Because this is not yet the final version, some of these features may not be stable.

If reports making the rounds are anything to go by, then Apple Watch users should expect the finished watchOS7 around September 2020.
