Samsung recently announced a new phone. This latest device is called the Samsung Leader 8, and it has some pretty good specifications. However, you would be surprised to learn that the device is a flip phone. But then, this flip phone is almost as capable as any other flagship phone on the market.

The Samsung Leader 8 features the Snapdragon 821 processor, which you would recognize as the same processor on the Galaxy S7. Furthermore, the device boasts of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The phone also features a 2,300mAh battery. Well, that does not sound like a lot, but it will get you through the day, largely due to the much smaller display, which sits in at 4.2 inches (10.67 centimetres).
The Samsung Leader 8 also has a 12MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture. Also, there’s a fingerprint sensor just below the camera. But then, the phone has more than just specs; it also supports Samsung services you would find on other devices, like Samsung Pay and wireless charging.

This is certainly an interesting concept. But Samsung has not announced anything related to price or availability yet. The only information available about the Samsung Leader 8 is that it will be available in China. It also seems likely that even if it is released in other countries, it will only be in parts of Asia.
As a matter of fact, this is not the first time in recent years that companies revisited the idea of a flip phone. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Folder 2, which had mid-range specs rather than the flagship specs on the Leader 8. Also, in June LG launched the LG Exalt LTE. It certainly is fun to see that the idea of the flip phone is not totally dead, despite the fact that most of the world has moved on from it.

Over time, your smartphone becomes sluggish, and switching between apps becomes tedious. One thing that causes this is the amount of apps running in the background. There are a few things you can do to improve the situation, and one of these things is controlling your background processes and apps.

How do you control background processes on your Android phone or tablet?
The best way to gain control of your background processes is to check them out with tools built into Android. These vary according to device. In some cases, you will need to enable developer options. There are several ways to do this, depending on the device. The next step is to find out what services are currently running. For several devices, this can be found in a setting called Processes or Process Stats. This can be found in Settings > Developer Options > Processes.
Now, you have to be careful which apps you stop. For example, do not lay a finger on Google Services, or any app starting with Google for that matter. If you find any other apps, like music players and messenger apps, you can turn them off. In any case, truly crucial apps won’t let you force stop them.
Now, you might think this is easier to do with a task killer app. However, some will argue that the use of task killer apps is going to do more harm than good in terms of processing and battery life. You are trying to fix the problem of apps running in the background and draining your resources; it is unreasonable to add another app that needs to be running constantly in order to monitor services and background processes on your phone. Furthermore, a task killer that repeatedly force-closes an app in the background is almost certainly going to drain your battery more. You might be better off just not installing the task killer in the first place.
