Unlike Samsung’s foldables for previous years, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 doesn’t support S Pen stylus input. But it seems, Samsung may rethink this decision and bring back the S Pen to better compete against Apple’s iPhone Fold .
The popular tipster Lanzuk (via Android Authority ) says that Samsung is now testing S Pen support on Galaxy Z Fold 8 variants as a countermove to Apple launching its first foldable.

Though, it doesn’t seem likely that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 itself will get S Pen support. One reason Samsung discontinued the S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is so the foldable can be thinner. Including the S Pen will mean thicker screens for both the cover display and inner display to make the foldable sensitive to the stylus. Samsung will want to keep that slim profile on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 too.
It’s more likely that the S Pen compatibility will appear for a different Galaxy Z Fold device. Rumours suggest Samsung is developing a wider foldable with a 4:3 aspect ratio when opened out, same dimensions as the foldable iPhone . It’s called the Samsung Wide Fold.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 variant, the Galaxy Wide Fold
Tipster @UniverseIce has shared predicted screen sizes for both the wide Samsung foldable and the iPhone Fold: 5.4 inches and 7.6 inches for the former, and 5.35 inches and 7.58 inches for the latter.

These iPhone Fold dimensions are not exactly the same as the dimensions that were previously leaked last week and used to make a 3D-printed mockup foldable . It’s either one of these sources is wrong, or Apple might have changed its mind on the width and length of the folding iPhone.
2025 was the year of thin phones. Most manufacturers competed to produce the slimmest phones whether they were practical or not. With the thin trend ending, 2026 promises to be a year of wider foldables. It’s the form factor that may trend with Apple and Samsung being at the forefront of the race.

Every year, Samsung unveils something new as regards soundbars , speakers, and TVs. Ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 expo, the company has revealed new soundbar and speaker lineups for 2026. It includes a flagship 11.1.4-channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos and a new all-in-one soundbar (HW-QS90H) without a separate subwoofer.
The coming soundbar for 2026 is the HW-Q990H and it’s the company’s most absorbing and powerful soundbar so far. Its 11.1.4-channel audio system comes with a 7.0.2-channel soundbar, two 2.0.1 satellite rear speakers, and a compact wireless subwoofer with two 8-inch drivers. The subwoofer features powerful bass despite its compact and space-efficient design. The combination of up-firing speakers and Samsung’s AI algorithms expands the sound field to offer audio that’s the same as professional home theatre setups.

More so, the company is bringing a new model to its soundbar lineup — HW-Q990H. This ‘ All-In-One Soundbar ‘ model has a 7.1.2-channel soundbar with nine wide-range speakers and a built-in ‘Quad-Bass Woofer’ system. It has no separate subwoofer and the soundbar still delivers deep bass.
It comes with a Convertible Fit design with a built-in gyro sensor. This enables the soundbar to be mounted on the wall or placed on the tabletop and it automatically tunes its channel distribution.
According to the South Korean firm, its new soundbar and speaker lineup is built to be more adaptive to a wide range of spaces in a home. The new version of Q-Symphony now supports connecting up to five sound devices to a Samsung TV. Then the system automatically analyses the room layout and device placement to enhance channel distribution in a way that makes the surrounding sound and dialogue clearer.
With The SmartThings app, you can control sound settings, group audio playback, and access music streaming services like Spotify. You can also access music controls and voice assistant settings through the same app.
The coming Samsung’s 2026 soundbars actually features more balanced and smoother audio. Though the launch timeframe and prices of the new speakers aren’t known, more details regarding that will unfold during CES 2026, taking place from January 6-9 in Las Vegas, USA.
