Samsung’s Galaxy A5x is one of its most attractive phone series, but its macro camera isn’t exactly its strongest suit. Although it receives noticeable hardware improvements, Samsung needs to put in the effort to make the Galaxy A57 far exceed the A56. A key way is by letting go of the macro camera.

Telephoto Versus Macro Cameras

No doubt, macro cameras on Galaxy A phones are borderline useless. Most users usually forget them after taking a few close-up photos within a week or two. They don’t usually make use of the macro sensor again.

A telephoto camera is useful in helping you capture higher-quality, long-range photos. That didn’t stick around for long. The Galaxy A72 was the only A-series phone to have one.

Samsung didn’t go on with the thought of a telephoto camera on the A series with the A73, the follow-up model. And after Samsung released the A7x series, the telephoto shooter never made it to the A5x.

Now is the time for the Galaxy A5x, particularly the Galaxy A57, to ditch the macro shooter in favour of a telephoto camera. It’s worth it if Samsung considers the idea and brings back the telephoto camera for the A-series next year. Even when Samsung doesn’t want to replace the macro sensor on the Galaxy A57 with a telephoto shooter, there’s the likelihood that the phone will be better off without either one.

A dual-camera system would be better than the current method of using a cheap macro camera to advertise a triple-camera system. This will reduce the cost of the Galaxy A57, allowing Samsung to turn its attention to improving other areas of the phone.

There are usually exceptions, and the dual-camera system of the Galaxy A57 may look like a downgrade from the A56. Very soon, most likely early 2026, we’ll see what Samsung has come up with for the Galaxy A57.

Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 has been a massive success. The company has decided to try something bolder, releasing a trifold, not just a regular foldable. Although it won’t be the world’s first trifold, as Huawei tops the list with the Mate XT, it is a foldable that promises a flagship experience.

The tech giant has revealed the Galaxy Z TriFold at the APEC summit in South Korea. The summit only spared us brief glances at the trifold, but a new video gives us a better look at this foldable. In the video from Omokgyo Electronics Mall, the Galaxy Z TriFold is seen up close.

The trifold is quite a thin device when unfolded. Samsung is using a similar design to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 here. The Trifold uses a dual-hinge mechanism, and when folded, it is as thick as a finger or slightly wider. It’s clear Samsung made a thorough effort to minimise the thickness despite the dual-folding.

When folded, the Galaxy Z TriFold resembles the Fold 7 from the rear. It comes with a triple rear camera setup, LED flash placement and a fingerprint scanner on the side, similar to the Fold 7’s setup.

There haven’t been any official announcements from Samsung regarding the TriFold’s specs or release details only that it will be available this year. There are rumours that it will only launch in selected countries , but nothing is certain yet.
