The Galaxy Z Flip 7 came with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chip this year as a way of reducing its reliance on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. Following the same pattern, this next-gen Flip foldable, Galaxy Z Flip 8,will feature the recently announced 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset.
Initially, we heard that Samsung might produce a 2nm version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a significant improvement to the 3nm TSMC chip, and outfit some of these Qualcomm’s chip with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in 2026.

Exynos 2600 vs Exynos 2500
Samsung’s Exynos chipsets haven’t exactly been great in performance, garnering a poor reputation over the years. Even with some improvements with the Exynos 2500 chipset on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 , there hasn’t been significant changes to the foldable’s performance. Maybe things might be different in the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Some Galaxy S26 models are expected to feature the Exynos 2600 chip . According to rumours, the base and Plus versions will have the Exynos 2600 variants in some markets, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will only feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
From Samsung’s product page, the Exynos 2600 offers multiple advancements , such as an NPU that delivers 113% improvement in generative AI performance compared to the Exynos 2500, and 39% better CPU computing performance. The chipset will also adopt the new APV codec.
While it all seems good on paper, we can only wait until the new Exynos 2600 chipset is launched with these devices to test out Samsung’s performance results. Since the Galaxy S26 series may launch in February, we have to until then to try out the Exynos 2600.
