Samsung is expected to roll out its next Galaxy devices early next year. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to include the base Galaxy S26 which we once assumed would be replaced with the Galaxy S26 Pro. With the Galaxy S26 back in the game, new leaks reveal details about its thickness .

Samsung Galaxy S26 - 1

Galaxy S26 thickness

The tipster, Ice Universe , shared on X that the base Samsung Galaxy S26 will be 6.9mm thick, not including the rear camera bump. It wouldn’t be an enormous reduction in thickness compared to the standard Galaxy S25, which measures 7.2mm. The Galaxy S26 would only be 0.3mm thinner than its predecessor. Compared to its competitors, the base Galaxy model was already thinner than the 8.6mm Google Pixel 10 and 7.95mm iPhone 17.

Galaxy S26 design - 2

The Galaxy S26 Pro was rumoured to be 6.7mm thick. It appears to be cancelled for now. For the slim lineup, the Galaxy S25 Edge measures 5.8mm thin. The Galaxy S26 wouldn’t be as thin as either device. The base S26 will serve as a thin flagship, likely cheaper than the Edge device with more capabilities. At least, in terms of battery and camera, the S26 will surpass the S25 Edge.

From the picture the leaker shared, a Qi2 magnet seems to be part of the design for Galaxy S26. It can be seen on the rear cover. This should be taken with a grain of salt as it might just be a concept and hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung. If the S26 does include integrated magnets, it will be a winning feature for fans.

Other rumours suggest that the base Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will feature Exynos variants, the S26 Ultra might come with a higher resolution 12MP 3x camera, with improvements in the Camera Assistant app.
