It’s been three months since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 made its debut, and like all phones, users have shared their complaints about the foldable device. Samsung has heard users’ feedback and plans to make serious changes in the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold.

Leaks suggest that Samsung is working on some of the major issues of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . When it comes to thickness, the company isn’t a match for its competitors, that’s why the Z Fold 7 fixed that issue with its 8.9mm profile when folded. The company also made the foldable lighter to match slab-style flagships, included a more powerful processor and a brighter, wider outer display that stretches closer to the edges like a traditional phone.

Even with the upgrades, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 still had some setbacks. Samsung dropped S Pen support and didn’t increase the battery capacity, but in the Galaxy Z Fold 8, both issues might be fixed.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 could come with S Pen support and a bigger battery

A report from Dealsite reveals that Samsung is making plans to upgrade the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s battery capacity to about 5,000 mAh. Compared to the 4,400 mAh of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , this improvement will deliver better battery life.

The company is working on making the display crease even less noticeable. According to the report, Samsung will make use of a new laser-drilling metal plate technology that will make the display crease less visible. Apple might also make use of this technology for its first foldable iPhone next year, as it is also struggling with minimising creases.

Rumor: About Galaxy Z Fold 8 • Battery capacity in the 5000mAh range • To improve display crease, it will adopt a laser-drilled metal plate technology, similar to the one used in the foldable iPhone • S Pen support to be reinstated pic.twitter.com/mX0xy75E4b — Jukan (@Jukanlosreve) October 28, 2025

S Pen support will make its comeback in the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung is reportedly working on an improved S Pen that will not defeat the slim design of the foldable.

With the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung is expanding on the success of the Z Fold 7 while fixing current issues to make the next foldable even better. We expect to see these improvements when the Galaxy Z Fold 8 launches in July 2026.

It was just September Qualcomm launched its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and there are already rumours about the next chipset. Rumours have it that the next processor is high-end tech that will completely change the Android experience.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip (codenamed SM8975) succeeds the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Trusted informant Digital Chat Station shared on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo , that Qualcomm will reportedly use TSMC’s most advanced 2nm N2P process for the next processor.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 - 2

Flagship phones like Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 15 are powered by the current Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip , which is built on a 3nm process. Qualcomm will move over to the 2nm process, skipping the N2 process and adopting the refined N2P node.

TSMC’s N2P process is the second-generation 2nm technology that offers 18% better performance compared to the current chipset. The N2P node beats the 3nm N3E process adopted for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, promising 36% lower power consumption.

The N2P node packs more transistors in the chip, making it 1.15x denser than the 3nm N3E chip. With these adjustments, flagship Android phones will perform way better than they already do.

That’s not all; the leak reveals that Qualcomm design the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 to support up to LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage to make phones faster and more efficient.

With upgrades in memory and storage, phones will be better equipped to support AI-driven tasks, which is exactly what future phones need, with Android software and camera systems geared towards machine learning.

This advanced technology is expensive, which is not surprising. The leak suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip will be quite expensive. Manufacturers won’t shoulder the cost. They’ll be handed down to you.

The next wave of premium smartphones are expected to be more powerful with impressive performance, but all that will come with a higher price tag.
