The Moto G 5G 2024 is now official and with a price tag of $200, putting it at the upper end of entry-level Android phone territory. It sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. You will be happy to know that it ships with Android 14.
Unlike many other phones in its price bracket, the Moto G 5G 2024 has a punch hole and that houses an 8MP selfie camera.
If we flip the phone over to the back, you will find a dual camera setup waiting there. It comprises a 50MP main camera and a macro camera. The back panel is made out of Vegan leather material, and the phone is coated with a water-repellant. This protects the phone from mild spills and splashes of water.
Keeping the lights on is a robust 5000mAh battery and there is 18W wired charging for topping it up. You can expect good battery life from the phone.

The Moto G 5G 2024 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a centered punch hole that houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
At the back of the phone is a dual camera arrangement, sporting a 50MP main camera and a macro camera.
Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM, another 4GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB built-in storage. Like the Moto G Power 5G 2024 , it is equipped with a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Other key features of the phone are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio headset port, NFC, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, splash-repellent design (note that this is not an IP-rated water-proofing), and vegan leather material for the back cover.

The Moto G 5G 2024 is available in Sage Green color only.

However, before then, it will be available from March 21 at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. It will also be available later at Cricket, AT&T, Boost Infinite, Boost Mobile, Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, UScellular, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, Optimum Mobile, and Cox Mobile, and on Straight Talk, Total by Verizon, Simple Mobile, Tracfone, Walmart Family Mobile, and Visible.

Specs
The Samsung Galaxy A35 sports a 6.6-inch 1080×2340 pixel Super AMOLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate. A 13MP selfie camera is embedded in the centered punch hole in the display. There is also a sheet of Gorilla Glass Victus protecting the display.
There is another sheet of Gorilla Glass protection on the rear panel, but Samsung does not specify which. Having a glass back is a nice touch and upgrade for the A35, though, as it makes the phone look and feel more premium.
Still talking about protection, the Samsung Galaxy A35 has an official IP67 dust/water resistant rating. In plain English, this means that it can be submerged in water for up to depths of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The rear camera configuration includes a 50MP main shooter with OIS, a 8MP fixed-focus ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera.
On the inside and running the show is an Exynos 1380 chipset. If you are wondering what the implications of that in terms of performance is, this is the same chipset in 2023’s Samsung Galaxy A54, and it has been proven to be a decent performer. It is now available in the A35 at a lower price point. That is a good thing.
The device comes in options of 6 GB and 8 GB RAM, as well as 128 GB and 256 GB storage. The second SIM slot is shared, so you can pop in a microSD card instead of a second SIM card.
5000mAh battery capacity has become something of a standard among mid-range smartphones these days, and so, that is what we have in the Galaxy A35. For charging, it is crippled with Samsung’s 25W fast charging. There are more affordable phones with 30W and 33W fast charging from the competition.
Software and Updates
Samsung Galaxy A35 ships with OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14, which is quite up-to-date. It is also eligible for 4 years of major OS updates and 5 years of security patches, which is as good as you will get with any smartphone in this price range.
Security
For the first time ever, Samsung is including its Knox Vault security service in an A series smartphone. This makes the Samsung Galaxy A35 a more secure device than the average smartphone.

In the EU (Germany, Switzerland, etc), the Galaxy A35 starts at €380 for the 6/128GB trim, and €450 for the 8/256GB variant. There is no price tag yet for the 8/128GB variant.
