It was a week ago that Samsung first rolled out One UI 8 Watch to the Galaxy Watch 5 , both in Wi-Fi and LTE variants. The update has started reaching the Galaxy Watch 5 in more markets. It’s now available in Europe.
It hasn’t been long since the One UI 8 Watch update started landing on the Galaxy Watch 5 in Europe, and it features the October 2025 security patch and the DYK4 version number.

The update is 1.8GB in size, and the process is somewhat slow. The Galaxy Watch 5 used to be the fastest Samsung smartwatch. Now One UI 8 Watch is a huge update in both scope and size.
It’s advised that the Galaxy Watch 5 is charged to at least 50% before proceeding, as the update process is likely to take more than 10 minutes.
Some of the remarkable features in One UI 8 Watch include the following:
- Now Bar integration
- More Double Pinch gestures for controlling notifications
- New charging animations
- Enhanced notification view
- Smarter notification settings
- Bedtime guidance and Mindfulness
- Find your perfect watch face through keywords
- Get watch face recommendations
- Create custom tiles
- Personalised apps drawer
- Choose which calendars will show in the Calendar smartwatch app.
You can try updating the Watch manually, in case you haven’t received the One UI 8 Watch on your Galaxy 5. Just follow these steps: Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone. Go to Watch Settings > Watch software update > Download and install.

Pixel phones are popular for their high-quality camera capabilities. The Pixel Camera app has been updated to version 10.2. While it seems to be a minor update on the surface, it includes some tweaks to the quick settings sliders that helps you adjust white balance, brightness, and shadows.

A tweak in Pixel Camera 10.1 returned these sliders to their original positions with shadows being above brightness on the right hand side. Practically speaking, adjusting brightness usually comes first before shadows and should naturally take precedence.
Reports suggest that version 10.1 change didn’t actually happen . Shadows still remained at the top with brightness at the bottom, and was exclusive to the Google Pixel 10 series at launch. For other Pixels, brightness is displayed at the top for both versions 10.1 and 10.2.
Pixel 10 camera app is different from others
The confusing part is why Google would do something different on the Pixel 10 from every other Pixel in exactly the same app. Even the Pixel Camera 10.1 app on Pixel 9 Pro Fold still has the brightness slider above the shadow slider on the right, and it will likely stay the same with v10.2.
To use these sliders, go to the Camera app, tap the gear icon in the lower left, then tap the three dots, and enable Quick access controls. You can easily use these quick access sliders appear while taking a photo. Although the sliders haven’t changed in the Pixel Camera 10.2 , there have to be minor updates. Since they aren’t noticeable, they will probably be bug fixes and stability improvements. Who knows, Pixel 10 users may even get a fix for a video stabilization issue that’s previously been reported.
