Software updates enhance and lengthen the lifespan of mobile devices. A software update can make your smartphone brand new or add improved features and/or performance. It is one of the key reasons why I love them and exactly why I am looking forward to the MIUI 12.5 update.

Xiaomi has announced the Mi 11 Global version , as well the features and timeline for the MIUI 12.5 update, and I am even more excited about my Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro already (yes; it is one of the eligible phones for the update) and has been officially listed, among others.

What Are The Benefits Of The MIUI 12.5 Update?

The most impactful improvement in MIUI12.5 is the better performance optimisation. Xiaomi says that in MIUI 12.5, the software’s CPU usage has been reduced by up to 22%, and power consumption has dropped by up to 15%.

In practical terms, this means Xiaomi smartphones that get the update will run smoother, more fluid, and consume less battery power. Yay! Android is a resource hog and every optimisation that manufacturers make to improve performance is a good thing.

Next on the list of benefits that MIUI 12.5 bring to the table is that more pre-installed apps can now be uninstalled or deleted. Double Yay! There are still some of them that cannot be uninstalled but then, Xiaomi says you can hide them. I hate having to see apps that I have no use for just sitting there in my phone.
