Apple is working on its one-of-a-kind foldable iPhone . The major feature about the iPhone fold is a display screen free from folding creases as seen in existing foldables like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Galaxy Z TriFold. After the leaked CAD designs for an iPhone Fold surfaced a few days back, someone fed those designs into a 3D printer and turned them into a realistic mockup that seems and feels like the actual foldable.

A German site, iPhone-ticker.de, first stumbled upon the CAD drawings and a virtual CAD render of the device. A member of the 3D printing community site MakerWorld then used the CAD to design and print out a realistic replica of what Apple’s first foldable iPhone might look like.

The maker, Subsy, admits the limits of the mockup. It only includes the external design of the supposed iPhone Fold. The hinge is basic and only designed to let the 3D print fold, and is unrelated to the hinge mechanism Apple might be building. The biggest limitation is that it doesn’t function internally, no software or even a flexible display. Nonetheless, it’s the closest look we’ve got of the iPhone Fold until at least future leaks surface.

From the CAD design and the 3D dummy, the iPhone Fold might seem to be a much wider device when folded: 3.3 inches wide x 4.65 inches tall by 9.6mm thick. It looks more like Microsoft’s Surface Duo, except with a single folding screen.

The only thing holding back the iPhone Fold is the issue of producing a crease-free display . The foldable iPhone will use high-quality display screens from Samsung. We can expect Apple to launch the iPhone Fold sometime in 2026 when it must have figured out how to remove the creases in the folding mechanism.

Since so much attention has been drawn to the minimal creases in foldable phones, it will definitely be the first thing people look out for in the foldable iPhone after its launch, instead of the design. Let’s hope Apple lives up to its expectations.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 came with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chip this year as a way of reducing its reliance on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. Following the same pattern, this next-gen Flip foldable, Galaxy Z Flip 8,will feature the recently announced 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset.

Initially, we heard that Samsung might produce a 2nm version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a significant improvement to the 3nm TSMC chip, and outfit some of these Qualcomm’s chip with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in 2026.

Exynos 2600 vs Exynos 2500

Samsung’s Exynos chipsets haven’t exactly been great in performance, garnering a poor reputation over the years. Even with some improvements with the Exynos 2500 chipset on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 , there hasn’t been significant changes to the foldable’s performance. Maybe things might be different in the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Some Galaxy S26 models are expected to feature the Exynos 2600 chip . According to rumours, the base and Plus versions will have the Exynos 2600 variants in some markets, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will only feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

From Samsung’s product page, the Exynos 2600 offers multiple advancements , such as an NPU that delivers 113% improvement in generative AI performance compared to the Exynos 2500, and 39% better CPU computing performance. The chipset will also adopt the new APV codec.

While it all seems good on paper, we can only wait until the new Exynos 2600 chipset is launched with these devices to test out Samsung’s performance results. Since the Galaxy S26 series may launch in February, we have to until then to try out the Exynos 2600.
