Talkmobile is a mobile virtual network operator in the United Kingdom which uses Vodafone’s network. Talkmobile was founded in October 2007 and is based in Newbury, Berkshire. Talkmobile currently offers 30-day and 12-month SIM-only plans to their customers. How good is Talkmobile’s phone service? Here’s our round-up of different reviews that will help you decide for yourself.

Talkmobile Phone Service Reviews On Trustpilot

Trustpilot was the first site I visited and the site had an overall star review rating of 3.9 stars out of 5 stars. There were a good amount of positive reviews and a lot of them were similar. A lot of the reviews were about the company’s customer service agents and employees who were helpful, friendly and polite. Some customers expressed their happiness with Talkmobile’s signal and their live chat feature. Those customers mentioned that there is always a signal and they don’t experience dropped calls. Here are a few of the good reviews:

•Have been with Talkmobile for about 9 weeks now, before that a customer of EE for over 20 years (since they were Orange). Whilst I agree that the offers from EE were good value, barely anyone in the real world needs 100GB a month. Can honestly say that I’m completely impressed – easy to switch over, no signal issues – 4g / 5g work fine (including roaming which worked great recently in France & Belgium) live chat support has been great, excellent value. Negatives ? If I’m being picky the app is a bit basic, but it works fine and shows usage/bills. For 50gb at £10 a month, I’m very happy.

•I have been with Talkmobile for the past 4 years and never had a problem with them.Setup was not a problem , nor on-going service , great and meets all my needs. Thank you.

•Talkmobile is such an excellent company! Any question I have had, I have been able to speak (after a very short wait – not like most companies) to someone, who has then made every effort to resolve my query. I would actually say it is the most helpful company I have come across. What is more, the monthly deals are extremely good value, better than anywhere else I have seen.

Now, on to the bad reviews, a good amount of the bad reviews spoke about the company increasing their bills without any warning. A customer mentioned in his/her review complained about the website always crashing. A few customers also complained about being charged even after they canceled their accounts and some customers weren’t happy with the live chat feature. There were also a few customers who wrote about how rude some customer service agents were to them. Here are some of the bad reviews:

•Signed up to a SIM Only plan with Talkmobile. They never charged me the actual monthly amount which I agreed on when taking out the plan. Instead, my monthly bills were always higher than my plan tariff amount. And this was never due to mobile activity outside of my plan limits. Customer Services are useless. They can not even process a refund. The Customer Service employees prematurely end the Live Chat as a way to get out of resolving your situation correctly. It’ll have taken 3 tries with Customer Service to get my refund and still, no refund. Dishonest practice, sly overcharging.

•AVOID AVOID AVOID. Canceled my account in May and are now demanding payment for June and August, even though customer services in August confirmed the account was clear but she wouldn’t confirm in writing.

During latest call they demanded the money or threatened I would get a bad credit reference

Egyptian call centre with staff that are unable to help if you go off script. Go to any provider except these jokers.

•Their coverage is good BCS they use Vodafone. The BIG scam is they bill you from the day you order the SIM,not when you activate it . I ordered talk mobile SIM on the 15th as my old contract ended on the 27th so I could insert their SIM on the 26th transition with no loss of service. First bill arrives £5 more than the uSwitch deal I took.Went on web chat with CS and they said we bill from 15th not 27th . RIP OFF.

Talkmobile Phone Service Reviews On The Review Centre Site

The Review Centre site had an overall star review rating of 1.7 stars out of 5 stars. There were very few good reviews on this site so here are some of the good reviews I found. Some customers mentioned that the customer service agents were always friendly and helpful. A few customers also praised the company’s great signal. Here are a few of the good reviews I found:

•Well we need to remember that the service we get is all individuals and not the company. Companies’ processing is perfect. I had the best experience taking out another contract with talk mobile today. The guy put up with me doing his head. Wasn’t happy about how many questions I had to answer to actually be able to speak. He stayed calm and patient with me, so I ended the conversation laughing. My own family can’t calm me. Looking back he was 100% right. I’m happy to know no one will ever be able to access my account. True gent and an assistant to the company. Thanks for allowing me to talk on the phone. Wish you all the best in whatever you strive for. Kind regards.

•I was reluctant to take out a mobile phone contract online as I normally like to go into the store and deal with people face to face. Looking at the price and reading reviews on other websites I thought I would take the plunge. I ordered 2 phone contracts, one for myself and another for my son. Although it is early days I have to say the customer service which includes delivery, and the level of communication has been excellent. Highly recommend Talkmobile.

•Always a great signal. Never experienced any problems. Upgrades fab. Much better than Vodafone by mile. My daughters are with Vodafone and they can’t get a signal whereas my phone is working fab. Would continue with talkmobile any day.

Some customers had issues with porting their SIM and cancellation of accounts. A lot of customers also complained about customer service and how no solutions were ever rendered to solve their issues. Here are some of the bad reviews:

•Talkmobile is quite simply dire (although dire means they could improve and that wont happen) Probably the worst company to deal with if you have an issue. Nobody cares. They have a crib sheet of answers, anything else will be your fault or the Royal Mail . . . .or Russia. . . Covid . . . The Queen . . .anything but them. They managed to lose my port number for 10 days!! 10 days!!. They even sent a verification text to the number that they’d lost and blamed me for not getting it. The call centers are India based, they don’t understand anything you are trying to explain. The company is inept, incompetent, totally useless and couldn’t organise a party up in a brewery. If, by some miracle, your 24 hour number port (or 10 days in my case) happens and there is an issue, it will involve around 15 hours!! on the web chat or on the phone, after that time they will do the total opposite of what was asked and probably lose your number again. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR NUMBER . . . IN FACT USE ANYONE ELSE.

•£90 exit fee, no discussions. Dispute over contract start date. Took out a pay monthly sim only deal and had to cancel it within the contract period. The 14 day cooling off period had just expired (2 days) but there was no leeway. My opinion was the contract should have started when i either received the sim card or had my number transferred over, Talkmobile said they start the contract on the order date. Had to pay a full 12 months worth to leave equalling nearly £90.

•My talk mobile sim card was damaged. given another one from the vodafone shop who deals with talk mobile. They told me to contact them to activate. Tried to do this but for my client who is unable to do himself, they refused to do it. Tried to do this on webchat and they tell me I will have to send a new card as the ones from the vodafone shop will not work!!!! Exactly the same card for god sake. You cannot speak to anyone who has good english so are struggling to get them to understand. I am now going to leave this company and go with a proper phone company. You are an absolute shambles talk mobile….
