So, you are looking for the best iPhones for battery life. Which iPhone has the best battery life? Apple’s iPhones have consistently had an Achilles’ Heel – battery life. For the most part, the reality has been that if you wanted to own an iPhone, you had to be willing to give up good battery life. Year after year, succeeding iPhone models subjected their owners to short usage periods before they needed to be plugged back to the wall socket or to a power bank. There was not one model you could point to for peace of mind when it came to battery life.

Thankfully, that has changed a little. It isn’t a big change. Most iPhones still have piss-poor battery life, but at least there are two with outstanding battery life – and two others with very good battery life. Only these four iPhone models can give you satisfactory battery life. Which one has the best battery life? Let’s have a look at them one by one.

The Best iPhones for Battery Life

  • Apple iPhone 11 : In 4th place is the 2019 Apple iPhone 11. It sports a 6.1-inch display, an Apple A13 Bionic processor, and a 3110mAh battery. iPhone 11 does not deliver outstanding battery life. As a matter of fact, it is significantly behind the iPhone with the 2nd best battery life. But what it gives is quite good: you will not get a full day of moderate use out of it, but at least, you will not have to dash for your charger every few hours. iPhone 11 also has it has 18W fast charging, USB Power Delivery 2.0, and Qi wireless charging.
  • Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max : In 3rd place is the 12 Pro Max. It has a larger display (6.7 inches), an Apple Bionic A14 chipset, and a 3687mAh battery. There is 22W fast charging available, USB Power Delivery 2.0, as well as MagSafe fast charging at 15W, and Qi magnetic fast wireless charging 7.5W.
  • Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max : Now, the 11 Pro Max is a solid iPhone for battery life. It has a 6.5-inch display, the same Apple Bionic A13 processor in the vanilla iPhone 11, and has a beefier, 3969mAh battery. That is a few clicks short of a 4000mAh capacity. With moderate use, you can squeeze almost a full day of use out of it. As a bonus, it has 25W fast charging, USB Power Delivery 2.0, and Qi wireless charging.
  • Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max : And the iPhone with the best battery life is no other than 2021’s 13 Pro Max . This is the maddest iPhone that you can buy today. As a matter of fact, we call it the perfect iPhone. This bad boy has a large, 6.7-inch display, an Apple A15 Bionic processor, and a solid, 4352mAh battery. This time, fast charging is rated at 27W. There is also USB Power Delivery 2.0, 15W MagSafe wireless charging, and 7.5W Qi magnetic fast wireless charging. The battery life of the 13 Pro Max is so good that it is bests even Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra’s battery life. And that is saying a lot.

Which iPhone has the best battery life?

These four are the very best iPhones for battery life, in this order –

  1. iPhone 13 Pro Max
  2. iPhone 11 Pro Max
  3. iPhone 12 Pro Max
  4. iPhone 11

That means the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the iPhone with the best battery life. With the announcement of the iPhone 14 series, we will begin to get results from battery tests conducted by reviewers from around the world, and we will see if the iPhone 13 Pro Max relinquishes that position. PS : Note that Apple is claiming that the iPhone 14 Plus has the best battery life out of any iPhone ever, but we will wait for independent confirmation of this claim.

For now, none of the other models come close to any of these in terms of staying alive for hours of use. If you hate carrying a charger or power bank around, don’t sleep on them. These, the top 3 especially, are the models to spend your money on. If you cannot afford any of those, the iPhone 11 is a good consolation option, as its battery performance is quite close to that of the 12 Pro Max.

Thankfully, because the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro Max are a few years old now, they are available at bargain prices, so if you are on a budget, that should count for something. If money is not a problem, though, go all the way and cop yourself a spanking new Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max and enjoy the best iPhone ever made.

Outside of Google’s Pixel phones, it isn’t every day that you see a two and half year old Android smartphone get the latest major software update, so this is big news. But when the smartphone in question was the second top selling smartphone in the world in 2020, then it is even bigger news.

What is also more interesting is that it is a discontinued device; it is no longer in production. But at least, it is getting all the software love it can. Released in December 2019 with One UI 2.0, based on Android 10, Samsung Galaxy A51 has already been updated to One UI 3.1 based on Android 11. And now in March 2022, One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 is now rolling out to this super successful, best selling Samsung smartphone.

One of the best selling Samsung phones ever is getting Android 12 - 2

Galaxy A51 was the best selling Samsung phone in 2020

Specs of Samsung A51 include a 6.5″ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Exynos 9611 processor, 48MP camera, 4000mAh battery, and 15W fast charging.

Its successor is the popular Galaxy A52 ; popular, yes, but which hasn’t sold as much as the A51. The Galaxy A51’s records remain intact. Speaking of the records, according to analytics firm, Omdia, a total of 23.2 million units of the A51 were shipped in 2020. This made it not just the best selling Samsung smartphone that year, but the best selling Android phone. It was second only to the iPhone 11 which shipped 64.8 million units in the same year.

It is good to see Samsung Mobile’s commitment to provide long-term software support to its smartphones. The Android phone world needs this kind of commitment. It is a good stimulant for competition and will hopefully get other manufacturers to sit up.

If you own a Samsung A51, your phone is getting a fresh lease of life. Go ahead and check if Android 12 is hitting your device yet. Don’t forget that the software rollout is staged and so may not reflect yet, but it will get to you eventually.
