A Wifi smart socket, also known as a smart plug, is an electronic gadget that allows you remotely switch on and off electrical appliances, or also automate them. If you have a smart plug set up, for example, you can switch on your living room A/C ten minutes before you get home, so the room is comfortable for you by the time you arrive. Even better, you can automate it such that the living room A/C switches on at 6pm every work day and switches off by 8am when everyone would be out of the house.

The advantages of using a Wifi smart socket are convenience and energy saving. What do you need to set one up? Not much at all. You need the smart plug itself, a wireless hotspot, your smartphone (Samsung, Nothing Phone, Motorola, TECNO, itel, any other Android phone, or iPhone), and an app.

Enjoy this detailed video guide that shows you how to connect, set up, and use a Wifi smart socket.
