Video communications app Zoom revealed on Wednesday that it has added over 100 features to its video conferencing as a part of its 3-month plan to address privacy concerns. The company also announced that it has made progress on a transparency report that references information related to requests Zoom receives for records, data or content.
The video conferencing platform has seen an increase in the number of users since the COVID-19 pandemic forced lockdowns in a number of countries around the world. Users expressed a number of security concerns from “ Zoombombing ” to other more serious security concerns.

These security concerns have forced the company to make a number of major security upgrades to better protect its users. One of which includes a 90-day plan by the company to address these privacy and security concerns. They have also hired several security experts including former Facebook security chief Alex Stamos.
It also plans to provide end-to-end encryption for video calls to paying and free users, with a trial version set to be launched this month.
These features should provide more protection for users, making their connections more secure during their video call sessions.

Microsoft-owned professional networking site LinkedIn has been found out for snooping on clipboard data for iOS devices. It was discovered that the app copies content with every keystroke. This comes just days after Chinese social media app TikTok was also found to be snooping on users’ clipboards.
This snooping was discovered thanks to an iOS 14 beta feature that alerts users when an app accesses the clipboard. LinkedIn has acknowledged the issue and made it known that a fix is on its way. The developer who discovered this fault, @DonCubed on Twitter discovered that the app was copying content from the clipboard of his MacBook Pro and he could see all notifications of it being copied on his iPad Pro.
LinkedIn is copying the contents of my clipboard every keystroke. IOS 14 allows users to see each paste notification. I’m on an IPad Pro and it’s copying from the clipboard of my MacBook Pro. Tik tok just got called out for this exact reason. pic.twitter.com/l6NIT8ixEF — d (@m0nald) July 2, 2020
